The First Statewide Implementation of a Regional Disaster Teleconsultation System to Expand Critical Care Surge Capacity: A Case Study in Vermont

Describes Vermont’s statewide use of the National Emergency Tele-Critical Care Network to provide remote critical care consultations during the Omicron surge. Seven hospitals implemented the system, enabling rural and critical access facilities to connect with intensivists, but it was ultimately used for only three patients due to low demand and delayed implementation.
