The NYC Pandemic Response Institute invites you to join us for a webinar exploring the challenges of advancing the provision of quality health information in an era with deterioration of trust in our institutions, media and the purveyors of public health and medicine. The recent COVID-19 pandemic demonstrated the importance of effective communication as misinformation, disinformation, and challenges to scientific facts had real life consequences. Dr. Sara Gorman’s recently published book, The Anatomy of Deception: Conspiracy Theories, Distrust, and Public Health in America highlights the polarization and threats to public health and societal progress. Dr. Gorman proposes interventions to advance public health through multiple channels from the community to national level.
Dr. Gorman will be joined by a panel of public health advocates and health communication experts to discuss:
- Effective health communication strategies and methods for building confidence and social well-being
- Community-based approaches for health progress and rebuilding trust
- Strategies to rebuild confidence in public health agencies and healthcare systems
Attendees are encouraged to submit questions to panelists. Registration is now closed, please see the recording below.
