The New York City Preparedness & Recovery Institute (PRI) is excited to announce that 16 students have been selected to participate in our 2025 summer program exploring creative approaches to public health preparedness and response messaging. This opportunity, hosted by PRI’s Racial Equity and Social Determinants of Health (RESDH) Team, invited students from Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health and the CUNY Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy to submit proposals for innovative, arts-based health communication projects that center health equity.
Selected students will receive mentorship to develop original public health dissemination projects, using creative formats such as visual art, storytelling, digital media, and theater. Their work will tackle a range of critical issues—from misinformation and vaccine hesitancy to carceral health, structural racism, and environmental justice.
We’re inspired by the passion, creativity, and commitment to justice that each student brings to their work. Stay tuned for updates this summer and opportunities to engage with the students’ final projects.
Congratulations To The Selected Students
