We are excited to announce a unique opportunity to shape the future of public health preparedness and response (PHPR) in our region. We are seeking a diverse group of individuals to join the Regional Coordinating Body (RCB) for the newly established Region 2 Center for PHPR (R2C) led by the NYC Pandemic Response Institute at ICAP at Columbia University.

The R2C will focus on advancing the implementation of evidence-based strategies and interventions (EBSIs) to strengthen the region’s ability to prepare for and respond to public health threats. The Center will work closely with state, tribal, local, and territorial health departments, nonprofits, universities, hospitals, and healthcare coalitions throughout the region to achieve these goals.

The RCB will play a pivotal role in guiding the R2C’s work. Specifically, the RCB will:

  • Identify focus areas and objectives for a Region 2 PHPR Center to prioritize and implement.
  • Develop a five-year regional work plan to enhance PHPR in the region. This plan will focus on testing, implementing, and evaluating evidence-based strategies and interventions (EBSIs).
  • Collaborate with the R2C Management Team, which includes leaders from PRI and  partner organizations.

Members of the RCB must be willing to commit to:

  • Serving on the RCB for a period of 12 months
  • Attending quarterly virtual meetings, starting this December
  • Reviewing documents and providing feedback
  • Attending an in person planning meeting this spring.

We are seeking 30 individuals from a broad array of sectors (business, government, non-profit), throughout the region, passionate about public health, and have experience and expertise in public health preparedness and response.

If you are interested in serving on the RCB, please submit your interest by November 30th.

We are committed to building an RCB that reflects the diversity of our region and communities and we encourage applications from individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences. We look forward to hearing from you!
