The NYC Pandemic Response Institute (PRI), in partnership with Columbia Engineering and the City University of New York (CUNY), is pleased to announce an upcoming opportunity for innovators in public health and engineering to submit collaborative proposals for Innovative Tools and Solutions to Address Public Health Emergencies. This initiative seeks to identify the most promising ideas and technological solutions for public health emergencies – from pandemics to climate change – within the following focus areas:
- Access to Care and Social Service Solutions that improve the ability and capacity to fulfill critical needs during public health emergencies
- Community Engagement and Communications Solutions that enhance the ability and capacity to reach, inform, engage, and mobilize the public
- Data Sharing, Analytics, Modeling, and Forecasting Solutions that enhance the ability to predict and promote a shared understanding of public health emergencies
- Diagnostic Solutions that address access gaps and advance point-of-care, laboratory, or other testing efforts
We invite interested parties to submit a brief Letter of Interest (LOI) by May 17, 2024 to participate in this exciting endeavor. Shortlisted LOIs will be invited to submit a full proposal for a research project by May 31, 2024. We anticipate awarding four (4) projects of up to $90,000 each, or more smaller projects if relevant. Interested applicants can submit an LOI via the Columbia University InfoReady system and must either login via their Columbia University accounts or create a new account for non-Columbia users.
